I fell in love with this book from chapter one! I love vampire books in general, but this one is just so much fun. In the first chapter we meet our heroine, Dawn, the vampire president's very sheltered daughter who longs to go out into the world. We also learn about current vampire events, such as the vampires becoming public and how they're viewed as celebrities. There's also mentions of some of the new reality TV shows (Transylvania Shore!) which had me grinning from ear to ear. ReVamped is a fun and refreshing addition to the vampire genre that will leave you with a smile on your face.Dawn's first trip away from home is a mission to assemble a new team of guardians for the small town of Angel Creek. There's four very different vampires she must round up: a preppy cheerleader, a quiet librarian, an alcoholic ex-rockstar, and a video game nerd. She definitely has a lot of work to do to get this group ready! Then there's the mysterious fifth vampire, Sebastian, who wants nothing to do with society, human or vampire. When a local human gets kidnapped by rogue vampires, Dawn must whip this unruly group into shape!
There's some interesting twists and turns along the way that I was not expecting at all! The story is most definitely unique and I enjoyed every page. I adored Dawn! She's super sweet, caring, determined, fierce and I loved witnessing her blossom into a strong woman.
ReVamped is lighthearted, fun, and has claimed a special place in my vampire-loving heart! I had such a good time reading it that I can overlook any inconsistencies and typos that stood out to me. It didn't effect my enjoyment of the book, so why dwell on it?! There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, action, and a bit of romance. If you're looking for a quick, super enjoyable read, this is definitely it!

The year is 2015 and vampires have co-existed with humans for the past three years. Dawn Fairchild is a nineteen-year-old vampire who has never left Scarlet House, her father's vampire presidential headquarters. She has spent her entire existence being educated and trained to be a smart, savvy.. and let's face it... badass fighter. She has always given all of herself and has succeeded in every task, but then again, she's never been out in the real world, so it's all come fairly easy for her... so far.
She finally receives a mission head to Angel Creek and train four new vamps to be the town guardians because their predecessors, The Fab Five, have ventured out to pursue other interests. Dawn is over the moon at the thought of breaking away from Scarlet House, even though the mission is meant to be a cake walk. She arrives in town, locates her recruits, but not before meeting Ethan, the town hunk/bartender at the local diner, and proceeds to assemble them for duty. Dawn quickly learns that the four vamps she is assigned are not at all what she expected. They range from a barbie-type, self-involved prom queen want-to-be to a teenage video game nerd. How will she train them to protect the town if she can't get them to put down the nail polish bottle or video game controller? Ugh.
Dawn doesn't give up that easily, though. She wrangles her crew, sends them to a remote location selected by her father, and gets ready for the task of a lifetime. Oh, did I forget to mention that Dawn is also made aware of another vampire in town, Sebastian, who she tries to recruit. He refuses her proposition without so much as batting an eyelash, and that really frustrates Dawn. Heck, the way Sebastian is described, everything about him would frustrate me... in a most forgivable way, if you know what I mean.
Unbeknownst to Dawn, this simple mission is about to dissect her entire life, and much of what is about to happen is no bueno. After weeks of training her newly recruited band of misfits, a local human woman is kidnapped by a group of rogue vampires, and so begins the unravelling of Dawn Fairchild's world.
I went into this book with the idea that it would be just like every other vampire story out there, and in the beginning I found a lot of similarities to True Blood - vampires living out in the open, drinking manufactured blood sources like Blood Cola, the chatty red-headed waitress, Hannah, and Ethan, the cute flannel wearing bartender at the local diner. Yes, really. I found myself rolling my eyes at the fame and fortune seekers of the vampire world and the vamp-inspired reality television show references. I was even a little disappointed by the four vampires that Dawn was supposed to train -- Brooke, a typical blonde cheerleader who's spent the last fifty years trying to become prom queen. Seth, the video game nerd that Brooke accidentally turned recently. Hunter, a junkie that was so trashed he could barely focus on Dawn's words. Sophie, a timid book nerd that works at the local library. How was Dawn expected to make something of these freaks? These vamps don't hold a candle to the legend of The Fab Five!
To my surprise, as the story began to unfold, I grew very fond of these characters that I had previously misjudged. Ada Adams is a true magician with words. The character arc for EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. is extremely well thought out and executed. Brooke, the want-to-be prom queen recruit that I desperately wanted to backhand in the beginning, became one of my favorite characters. There is much more to these folks than meets the eye, and that made me a very happy girl. The plot completely enveloped me and, after a certain point, I could not put the book down. It was SO EASY TO READ! Easier than many books I've read recently. I tuned everything else out, much to my husbands chagrin, and became lost in Angel Creek. By the end I could think of nothing other than jumping into the next book...
What can I say about new author Ada Adams and her debut novel, ReVamped? It was AWESOME! I could not put the book down! I had to force myself to stop reading so I could get some sleep the night I started reading it. This book is a whole new take on vampires who live openly and freely in society. Dawn is the main character, the nineteen-year-old daughter of the current vampire president. She has been trained since she was young in defense and now she finally has her first mission; to go to Angel Creek and assemble the four vampires living there to guard the town. When Dawn arrives she finds that this mission is not as easy as she thought, and that these four vampires need to be revamped!
Ada Adams writes like she has been an author for years. Her descriptive writing creates a scene right before your eyes. The characters in this book are well-developed and you find yourself cheering them on. This is a great vampire book with a completely unique story-line. A little bit of romance and a lot of action, this book will keep you turning page after page! There is an incredible twist that you will never see coming! Five stars to Ada Adams on a stellar novel! I look forward to reading more books from her in the future!
I was lucky enough to receive this book for free in exchange for my honest review.
